Beyond Boundaries of Autism (BBA). BBA is a non-profit organization sponsored through Goodwill NCW. Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin is one of 207 regional Goodwill organizations throughout North America and across the world. A member of Goodwill Industries International, it has been serving north central Wisconsin communities since 1971. Goodwill NCW currently serves 35 Wisconsin counties and includes 17 Goodwill Retail Stores and Training Centers from Manitowoc to La Crosse, and as far north as Rice Lake and Rhinelander. The goal of Goodwill is to help people with disabilities and other barriers to employment, and others with individualized needs, maintain their independence and become more fully contributing members of society. Beyond Boundaries of Autism provides 1 on 1 in-home therapy to children in Wisconsin with Autism. The state of Wisconsin also has a waiver system set up that allows families with autism to receive 3 years of intensive in home therapy at no cost to the family. Despite the good job done by the state of Wisconsin, more needs to be done because waiver families do not receive any financial support to help with the costs that they may come in contact with, such speech therapy, occupational therapy, therapy supplies and research materials. Unique Data Solutions is doing our part in improving the lives of people in our communities. Unique Data Solutions, along with other organizations sponsored a Volley for Autism fundraiser event on August 6, 2006 in La Crosse WI. The money derived from the event will go directly to the La Crosse area families and will be used for a resource library, providing therapy tools and providing qualified therapists with the funds to go to conferences and training to further enhance their knowledge and training about autism.
